Job Title: Safety Specialist

Location: Port Hope (9001-PHCF)

Years Experience: Intermediate (4-9 years) or Senior (10+ years)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

· Ensure construction activities comply with the company’s safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) requirements.

· Monitor daily activities to identify hazardous conditions and ensure implementation of safe work procedures.

· Work closely with the construction management team (CMT) and contractors.

· Ensure all safety, health, and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed.

· Conduct workplace inspections with CMT, focusing on behavioral observations.

· Review field level risk assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for adherence to quality standards.

· Conduct and monitor SHEQ-related training for CMT personnel and contractors.

· Participate in job hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox meetings, and project reviews as requested.

· Conduct daily and weekly job site inspections according to procedures.

· Identify and address health and safety concerns specific to the work site.

· Investigate injuries, accidents, and near misses following site corrective action processes.

· Ensure timely notification of significant events.

· Monitor the quality of incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

Skills/Previous Experience:

· Technical CSO Designation required.
