Job Responsibilities:

• The Safety Specialist/Investigator ensures compliance with the company’s safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards and investigates incidents related to safety, radiation, and environmental concerns.
• Collaborate closely with middle and senior management within the operation.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental procedures and work instructions.
• Actively participate in meetings to contribute to safety initiatives.
• Conduct thorough investigations into injuries, accidents, and near misses following site-specific corrective action protocols.
• Possess formal training in investigation techniques and demonstrate experience in leading investigations.
• Formulate corrective actions based on investigation findings.
• Deliver investigation outcomes to the management team.
• Utilize database skills to input investigation results into CIRS (Cameco Incident Reporting System).
• Monitor the quality of incident investigations and oversee the timely implementation of effective corrective actions.
